ΠΕΡΙΛΗΨΗ
Chertomlyk was one of the Scythian royal tumuli of the 4th century BC situated to the Dnepropetrovsk region of Ukraine. The burial mound was surrounded by a supporting stone wall, where evidence for funerary rituals was detected. The central tombs contained the burials of the king, his wife, 5 other accompanying persons and a dog, while the king’s burial was also accompanied by three separate horse graves. The tumulus contained valuable ceremonial weapons and other specimens of Scythian and Greek metalworking. |
